Shadow Panda King Kong Shrimp
Shadow Panda King Kong Shrimp
Shadow Panda and King Kong shrimp are black Taiwan bees from the genus Caridina. Historically, they were among the most challenging freshwater shrimp species to keep and breed. Between 2009 and 2014, however, hobbyists succeeded in stabilizing the line, making it more suitable for the home aquarium. By introducing new genetic elements to the Taiwan bee shrimp, the current strain is much easier to keep and breed. Ideal for hobbyists ready to take their pet shrimp to the next level, these shrimp offer an interesting challenge.
The Shadow Panda King Kong Shrimp is a unique variation of the popular Panda, King Kong, and Blue Bolt shrimp. It features an impressive blue hue that intensifies with age. What sets it apart is its ability to be selectively bred when keeping different shrimp in the same aquarium.
CARING -
Caridina shrimp require a lower PH then Neocaridina shrimp. Please ensure your water is up to the correct parameters. We recommend keeping them in hard water with a gH of at least 7 for them to show the most color. Aquarium should be fully cycled before introducing any shrimp. There should be no trace of any Ammonia or Nitrite. Nitrate should be under 25ppm. Weekly or bi-weekly water change of 10-20% is suggested to keep the nitrate low. Feed only 2-3 times a week as overfeeding will cause shrimp death.
